EDUCITY ISKANDAR OPENS ITS PPV PIKAS TODAY

EduCity Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd (EduCity) announced today that EduCity Sports Complex (ESC)
commenced operation as a Vaccination Administration Centre (PPV) under the Ministry of International
Trade and Industry (MITI) Public-Private Partnership Covid-19 Industry Immunisation Programme (PIKAS)
or PPV PIKAS.

The EduCity Iskandar PPV PIKAS opens after receiving approval from the relevant authorities
and a working visit by YB Senator Datuk Lim Ban Hong, Deputy Minister of MITI on Sunday 1st August 2021.
The EduCity PPV PIKAS will serve manufacturing industries registered under MITI in the Iskandar Puteri,
Gelang Patah, Pekas Nenas, Senai, Kulai and Skudai area. As caring corporate citizen, IIB is dedicated to
support the Johor government for the success of Pelan Pemulihan Johor.

to accelerate the vaccination programme for the manufacturing sector in Johor. We are pleased with the
facilities provided by IIB and EduCity that has met all our requirements. We thank EduCity for giving their
strong commitment and being highly professional in ensuring the EduCity Iskandar PPV PIKAS can start
operating smoothly. The acceleration of the vaccination programme will ensure economic sustainability
and the well-being of our community”, says YB Senator Datuk Lim Ban Hong.

He added that PIKAS is a collaborative effort between the public and the private sector and was launched
on 16th June 2021. PIKAS is also the Phase 4 of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK)
and aims to expedite vaccination for the workers in the critical manufacturing subsectors. As of 31st July
2021, 472,525 manufacturing workers around the country has received the first dose through the
programme while 55,839 workers received the second dose.

Managing Director of EduCity, Wan Ahmad Saifuddin Wan Ahmad Radzi commented, “We are delighted
to assist the government in providing a PPV for the manufacturing industry in Johor and accelerate the
vaccination roll-out for Malaysia to achieve herd immunity. The adequate space at ESC ensures a safe
environment for vaccine recipients. We are committed to working closely with all agencies, including

ProtectHealth Malaysia to ensure that all the requirements are met in accordance with the Standard
Operating Procedures (SOP) to safeguard the community.”

Built by Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB), the 21.5-acre sports complex with 14,000 seating capacity was
launched in 2014. It houses sporting facilities catering to students and staff of IIB group of companies as
well as Iskandar Puteri’s community.

Last year, ESC became the Covid-19 Sampling Centre in Iskandar Puteri. More than 20,000 samples have
been taken, with approximately 100 frontline staffs under the supervision of KKM operating at this centre
which attended up to 1,000 people per day. ESC also has become a training centre to conduct swab
sampling for various medical staffs from klinik kesihatan in Johor and Melaka, as well as private hospitals.
